We have a WFOE based in Shanghai, we would like to explore the possibility of importing and distributing Fresh Tomato and Fresh Oranges from Mexico, so I would like to know the following:

1) Our company holds trading rights (import-export license) and also has the "Food Stuff" license (食品流通许可证)is there any other special license that we need in order to import tomato or oranges?

2) Whats the Import Tax? Is there some special treatment if the tomatoes/oranges comes from Mexico? Is there some Consumption Tax?Thanks!

Please check here for the China market for tomato and products published by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Services, Global Agricultural Information Network.

China import duties for tomato (HS07020000) and orange (HS 08051000) from Mexico are levied at 13% and 11% respectively. VAT 13% is also charged.
