According to a story featured in HKTDC website, the sales of certain types of products would need the approval of the Ministry of Commerce. These products include food, liquors, grains, pharmaceuticals. All these products would need a special permit or reporting to the Ministry of Commerce in Beijing.
In setting up a company to engage in domestic sales, the basic procedure is to prepare the relevant documents and then seek approval from state commerce departments. If the above-mentioned special products or special sales channels are involved, additional approval would be needed and the whole process would take two to three months.
