I would like to know the tax rates and duties for importing the following scrap metals into China: 1. old mixed aluminum 2. hms no. 1 steel 3. hms no. 2 steel 4. mixed non magnetic stainless scrap 5. 309 stainless steel 6. 310 stainless steel 7. 316 stainless steel 8. 321 stainless steel 9. 330 stainless steel

China import duty rates for aluminum scraps (HS 76020000) are 1.2%; stainless steel scraps (HS 72042100) zero percent. VAT of 17% will be applied to all these imports.

Exporters of goods produced in China with raw materials and components that incurred in payment of input VAT are eligible for VAT refund. However the current Chinese VAT refund system disallows full payment of input VAT. Also there are many other complications regarding the refund system. China import duty rates for aluminium scraps (HS 76020000) and stainless steel scraps (HS 72042100) are zero in 2011. VAT 17% will be levied. Post 6 of 7
