What are the customs duties and consumption tax for Thai manufactured ready-to-eat prepackaged processed food snacks like shredded squid, fish, dried fruits, nuts, and seeds? Would anyone know what the HS codes for these items would be? I've been told conflicting information that there is/ is not a separate customs duty for the food contents as well as the packaging.

The captioned packaged foods are classified mostly under HS 0307 ¡V Molluscs, whether in shell or not, live, fresh, chilled, frozen, dried, salted or in brine; aquatic invertebrates other than crustaceans and mulluscs, live, fresh, chilled, frozen, dried, salted or in brine; flours, meals and pellets of aquatic invertebrates other than crustaceans, fit for human consumption; HS Chapter 08 ¡V Edible fruit and nuts, peel of citrus fruit or melon. China customs duty for most of these goods imported from Thailand are free under the China/ASEAN Free Trade Agreement. The dutiable value of imported goods in general is their CIF price plus any other expenses that associated with the delivery of the goods.
