Name supplied	posted 22 April 2009 10:30 AM I would like to start importing bicycles (choppers)from China to Thailand. I have never done this before, 1. How do I go about it in terms of procedures? 2. What are the costs involved?
Moderator	posted 24 July 2009 03:15 PM Import licenses are usually required only for goods considered to be direct competition with domestic products. We believe that imports of bicycles into Thailand are not subject to this licensing control. Import transactions require Excahnge Control approval. The procedure differ according to the method of payment. Most payments for imports may be approved by authorized banks upon submission of documents such as invoices, collection bills and import permits (if required). Imports of bicyles from China into Thailand may subject to preferential tariff rates of 5%. Please note these information are meant for reference only.

I would like to import Chinese generators from China to Thailand and would like to know if you recommend the use of an agent for this, and what costs may be involved in importing such items.
