for vandana 2 Oct: India levies various ad valorem or specific rates on imports of womens and girls singlets and other undershirts, slips, petticoats, briefs, panties, nightdresses, pajamas, dressing gowns etc under HS 6208 depending on kinds of garments. Ad valorem rates range between 8% and 10% or 65 Rs.to 80 Rs. per piece whichever is higher. You need to indicate the type of garments specifically with appropriate HS codes before the rates of duty can be determined.

for Mehul 20 Oct: Most countries in the world are obliged to levy zero duty to imported information technology products including laptop computers. Therefore your shipments of the captioned goods will enter India duty free. However there are other duties and taxes to be observed, namely 12% countervailing duty, 4% special duty and excise cess 3%. Normal trading documents including bill of lading, commercial invoice and packing list would be required for customs clearing in India. We believe your mentioned back office in India can act as consignee to take delivery of the goods and pay the required duty and tax.

for AA 21 Oct: Plastic and rubber products are classified under HS Chapters 39 and 40 and therefore have many product categories. In general the Indian customs duty on such products have been reduced from 12.5% to 10%. However when countervailing duties and taxes are added the total tax and duty payable would amount to around 32% of the CIF value of the goods.

for ivan 8 Nov: There is no specific HS code provided for this type of device but could be classified under 84719000 ¡V magnetic or optical readers, machines for transcribing data onto data media in code form and machines for processing such data. The India customs duty for this item is rated zero, but levy other duty and tax, viz. countervailing duty 10%, special additional duty 4% and education cess 3% of countervailing duty amount. In total it would amount to about 15% of the import cif value.
