for Anand: India import duty for cotton waste under HS 5202 is levied at 15% plus 4% special additional duty in 2009. Import duty for such import from Bangladesh may be waived due to preferential tariff status.

for AT: India import duty for instruments, appliances used in medical, surgical, dental or veterinary sciences under HS 9018 is 7.5% plus 4% countervailing duty, 4% special additional duty and customs and excise cess of 3%.

for Abhijit: India import duty for photographic cameras under HS 9006 is charged at 10% , countervailing duty 8%, special additional duty 4% plus customs and excise cess of 3%.

for Sumay: Yes all motor cycles and scooters including electrically operated (HS 87119091) imported into India are levied 100% customs duty, 8% countervailing duty, 4% special additional duty and customs and excise cess of 3% each to add up a total of 130% of the import value.

I purchase the laptop hinges but when i asked about custom clearing and tax / duty they said that buyer need to do the custom clearing and collection of the purchased from the relevant custom authority. The prices of all the items and shipping shown in our website does not cover any tax and duty which may be charged by the buyer residing country. Buyers have to settle with and pay the tax and duty if any to the relevant authorities I am ready to pay the tax and duty...but i dont know the procedure...can i do it online...?? I want to product finally at my home...dont want to visit any office ...so could u suggest me how can it possible.

I would like to know the custom duties are applicable on computer accessories pen drives, usb drives, memory cards, wired and wireless mouse, micro projectors while importing to India. I could not find the HS code listing on the CBEC website for these categories. Are there any concessions on any of the above. looking forward for support on the above.

Dear sir, I am planning on getting a ps3 slim marked as gift imported to India fro the U.S.A. So would the 25% tax be levied on the entire value of $300 =15,000 INR or would 5,000 be exempted and tax be levied on 10,000 INR

I purchased a laptop and a camera from the US, but I also have my company laptop, an old digital camera and an ipod which I was carrying when I was traveling to US. I do not have receipts of these. And I also don't have the export certificate. I also purchased an expensive watch here. Will I have to consider all these personal/old items when I calculate my custom duty.
