I would like to know if the EN 581-1:2006 is less strict than the EN 581-1:1997 or not? as i found the chair can pass the new one but fail the old one by the accessible gaps/ holes. Any difference in-between? thanks

After the standard was updated from version 1997 to 2006, the requirement for accessible openings was changed and easy to meet. The requirement in the old standard, a wide range (7 to12mm) is prohibited, but in the new standard, only two points (7mm & 12mm) are prohibited.
