We are a knitwear trading company in HK. Is it possible to open a company in China to import the knitwear from HK to China? What are the procedures for importing in China? Thank you in advance!

There are no restrictions nor controls on knitwear exports from Hong Kong to China, apart some licensing requirements. You can either set up a trading company in China or appoint a trading company in the mainland to handle the shipment and customs formality. If the knitwear products fulfill the place of Hong Kong origin requirements the goods may be imported into China free of duty under the CEPA. Please click here for information on China Trade Regulations.
